Definitely order this boot one full size larger. I normally wear a 6 1/2 so I ordered a 7 1/2 and it fits perfect. This boot is very comfortable. I bought it because I have a trip coming up where I will be doing alot of walking. I have to wear an orthodic for my arch, and this fits perfectly inside the boot. I have narrow calves and find that this boot fits well for me without any gaps. For those with bigger calves, there is an elastic panel in the back. Very satisfied with this boot!
Definitely order 2 sizes down with these. The wide ones are VERY WIDE! I usually take a wide shoe, and these gap like nobody's business. The lining is a little baggy, which is very annoying. If I didn't need them for a class today I'd definitely return them for 1/2 size smaller (making them 2.5 total sizes smaller) and the M width. But alas, I need them for today. The high vamp on these makes the feet look very ungainly.
Deerskin - Deerskin seems to expand more than ordinary leather. I would suggest a 1/2 size smaller. EXCELLENT SERVICE!
Decent, but not for long periods of time - These shoes are adorable, but the fit is somewhat odd. They run a bit narrow, and the angle pushes my feet too far down so that the back strap is WAY too long (comes under my heel at the tightest setting) and the stiff fabric in front starts to dig into my foot. It's somewhat comfortable for a while, but my feet were hurting by the end of the wedding I wore the shoes to. They could use some breaking in.
Decent looking but not terribly comfortable - Because of a previous review I ordered the double wide instead of the standard wide width. The fit was good. My only problem was the support and comfort. While standing and walking in them I felt there was no arch suppose. I also felt like I could feel the inner components that made up the shoe while standing and walking in them. Odd sounding I'm sure. For the cost of these shoes I expected a better quality fit. I returned mine after just wearing them in the house.
